New photo series: Flora
More new shots in the native flora series. Growing up in the Blue Mountains I was always around both incredible scenery and amazing flora and it’s an interest that I have carried with me ever since. It’s a world away from most of my other work, especially the hip hop stuff, but it’s an interest that has never faded. Mother Nature really is an amazing designer!

Amazing fine art prints
I just got some more prints done and once again the guys at Pixel Perfect have done a stunning job. The colours are an absolute knockout and the black and whites are perfect. I love these guys, they’re so consistent and the quality is really impressive.

Elizabeth Weinberg interview
I love this girl’s photos. They are nothing like mine but I often wish my own work had this kind of carefree nature to it

Killer bridal photos
I always get asked to shoot weddings and the answer is always the same. No.
This is the closest i’ll ever get to wedding photography. These are from an advertising shoot for the Belvoir St Theatre, a production called Baghdad Wedding. You might recognise this actress from a few ads on TV or a new show called Winners and Losers. Two of my favourite outtakes of all time!

The New York aesthetic
Going through some old photos and I found these ones filed away. They really remind me of the album art photos of hip hop photographers like Danny Clinch, Mannion, etc, etc, who i’m more than happy to list as great influences.
There’s just something magic about the aesthetic of Brooklyn and the Bronx, at least for someone who grew up on Style Wars and early 90’s hip hop.

Greg Fleet, comedian
So often I see people that I have photographed pop up on TV or appear in magazines, etc. The other night this guy was on Can of Worms on Channel 10. It’s a terrible show but interesting to see what he had to say (from the ads, anyway). An intelligent guy behind the larrikin facade.

Secret Wars grand final this wednesday night!
Secret Wars is a live art battle that happens all around the world and has been building a huge following. The concept is brilliant: two artists battle it out on blank canvases in front of a live audience, using nothing more than black ink or paint.
This wednesday night is the grand final and my good friend, the exceptionally talented Heesco, is going head to head with another artist,...

Double exposures, old-school style
Nice to see that there are some people still taking the analogue approach to create interesting photographs. These compositions are great and each of the images are like multi-layered stories:

Sun Printing on Fabric, a la Man Ray!
I just stumbled across this post about ‘sun printing fabric’, which is amazing. It’s a process similar to the old photograms of Man Ray, but you place objects directly onto fabric to achieve a similar effect. The possibilities are endless!
