A few months ago I took some photos for the wonderful organisation CanTeen. They now have a Facebook page so please visit their page, buy a bandanna and show your support:

On the topic of the Queen’s Jubilee, a portrait of Janet Williams from Janet’s Royalty Rooms in Wollongong. Janet collects royalty memorabilia and boasts a collection of over 10,000 pieces.  A former hotspot on the tourist trail, before closing last year due to Janet’s retirement.

Tax time

Ok so tax time is never fun and we would all rather be out shooting, but there’s no escaping it. The best you can do is stay organised and find yourself a good accountant. I sure have, so if you need a good accounting whiz don’t hesitate to contact Darren Hooper from Tax Services Australia. He’s a genius and will make your life a lot easier so you can get back to the fun stuff much quicker.

Brushing the dust off some old photos to find one in particular and I came across this guy. It’s funny to think back on what I’ve done and to see where things have moved on to. I shot this back in 2007 for FBI Magazine and just the other day ran into the art director that I worked with on it. In some ways I cringe looking at how amateurish it was but then I just have to smile and remember how much fun it was :)

The beautiful Jessica Olson, from a shoot that I did for CanTeen. It’s bewildering to think that cancer could affect someone so young and angelic.

Architecture Australia

Switching back to portrait mode, check out the latest issue of Architecture Australia for a great article by Justine Clark on women in the architecture profession

Anyone who’s been following the blog for a while now will be noticing a rollercoaster of different subject matter lately, from studio-based artworks, to food, landscapes and portraits. I’ve been busy mixing it up and loving it!

Recently I have had some great portrait commissions, including this national ad campaign for CanTeen, an Australian organisation for young people living with cancer, to promote their National Bandanna Day.

I got to work with some amazing young people and I’m very fortunate to have been able to contribute to such a great cause for a great organisation.

Part of a big project that I’m involved with at the moment looking at gender, equity and diversity for women in architecture. Many more to come
